  • Developed a unit on epidemiological parameters as part of the Modeling and Advanced Analytics module of the Epi-Training Kit (written in English and subsequently translated to Spanish)
  • Adapting course materials to the African context: technical review of Spanish to English translations of 4 modules of the Epi-Training Kit; replace Latin American examples with those from Africa

Outbreaks Module for MSc/MPH

Gave this one-hour lecture 4 years in a row (2021-2024) for MSc/MPH students: twice on mpox and twice on Zika.

International Course on Outbreak Analysis and Modeling for Public Health

  • Supported week-long course for 80 public health professionals from 11 Latin American countries in December 2023
  • Led two practical sessions on mathematical modeling using R software (in Spanish)
  • Participated in a panel about country-specific experiences in outbreak response (in Spanish)
  • Presented on probability distributions (in Spanish)
  • Presented on best practices for estimating epidemiological delay distributions (in Spanish)
  • Assessed final presentations (using an R package to solve a public health problem) of workshop participants as part of a judges panel
